Wednesday, 9 July 2014 saw the presentation of the prêt-à-porter collection of the Berlin designer Frida Weyer in the historical counter hall of the Humboldt Carré on Gendarmenmarkt.
Front row celebrities included the model Franziska Knuppe, actresses Anna Maria Mühe, Chiara Schoras, Caroline Peters, Sanny van Heteren, Nova Meierhenrich and singer Siri Svegler.
FRIDA WEYER's 2015 spring/summer collection, entitled 'Drunk in Love', showed the different stages of a love story – from the first encounter to the perfect happy end. Variations on the theme included black business suits with understated lace insets; metallic-coloured party wear; elegant summer dresses in various hues of rosé – some in pleated silk featuring lace, asymmetric hems and beguiling scoop necks; a number of negligees, as well as an enchanting range of bridal gowns.
Colours, designs and décors bore the designer's unmistakable signature, in which she combines the contemporary with romantic femininity. BENTLEY HANDBAGS, styled to match the FRIDA-WEYER look, set the scene to perfection.
The romantic theme was underlined by the event's location in the historic counter hall of the Humboldt Carré. An abstract floral oil painting by Silke Weyer, the designer's cousin, provided the backdrop for the catwalk. A similar painting also staged the lounge installation of the BENTLEY HANDBAG COLLECTION.
Two of the FRIDA WEYER COUTURE outfits featured the new BENTLEY HANDBAG COLLECTION, which had been launched by the luxury car manufacturer the previous year.
The fashion show ended with the bride models being met at the exit by BENTLEY's Just Married limousine.
The FRIDA WEYER Spring/Summer 2015 collection is entitled "Drunk in Love". The show presents all of the stages of a love story – from the very beginning to a wonderful happy ending. Colors, styles and settings portray a very modern approach – and naturally, the audience will be presented a great deal of femininity, the trade mark of the FRIDA WEYER collections.
As the exclusive show partner, Frida Weyer is proud to announce Bentley. The luxury car manufacturer just launched their handcrafted BENTLEY HANDBAG COLLECTION. Created from a timeless combination of fine materials and meticulous craftsmanship, each bag bears a unique identifying number that will play a part during the show.

MEISSEN Italia, die Mailaender Tochter der 300 jaehrigen Manufaktur MEISSEN hat heute bekanntgegeben, ihr Sortiment zukuenftig um gehobene Couture zu erweitern. Hierzu hat das Traditionshaus die junge deutsche Designerin Frida Weyer als Chefdesignerin gewinnen koennen, deren Kreationen unter anderem mit dem PREMIUM Young Designers Award und dem BUNTE New Faces Award ausgezeichnet wurden und international bereits viel Anklang gefunden haben.
Unter der neuen Marke "MEISSEN COUTURE" sollen zukuenftig jaehrlich zwei Kollektionen besonderer Cocktail-, Abend- und Brautkleider praesentiert werden.
"Der Markenkern von MEISSEN ist nicht die Mode sondern die Kunst. Daher konzentrieren wir uns im Konzern auf die Couture, bei der edle Materialien, aufwaendige Handwerkskunst und Kreativitaet zusammenfliessen.", erlaeutert Dr. Christian Kurtzke, Vorsitzender der Geschaeftsfuehrung von MEISSEN die Strategie des Konzerns. "Frida Weyer's Kreationen sind uns bereits in den letzten Jahren aufgefallen - ihr Anspruch und Koennen passt perfekt zu unseren Markenvorstellungen."

Five different sets of opulent scenes to "Anna Karenina goes Versailles" are constructed with fabulous MEISSEN - a 300 year old house of fine arts & handcrafted luxury - porcelain (amongst others) to create a fairytale scene. This peacock you see here is 1.10 mts high - wow! Two more days until the show. We are getting so excited!

FRIDA WEYER presented her spring/summer 2013 collection in the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin tent at Berlin's Victory Column on Friday evening, July 6, 2012.
Within the scope of her cooperation with the Turkish Embassy's Office of Culture, the designer had travelled to Istanbul a number of times to get inspiration from the Ottoman era. Guests, including celebrities such as Kai Wiesinger, Sanny van Heteren, Natalia Avelon, Laura Osswald and Bahar Kizil, came to the show with high expectations.
FRIDA WEYER produced a breathtaking show with many highlights which were greeted with enthusiastic bursts of applause. The collection comprises a broad range of dresses of various lengths, pant suits as well as different combinations and also trench coats and bags. Traditional Oriental patterns are a recurring theme, executed in a highly modern way and further emphasized through a distinct cut; this included the Turkish rose and the famous tulips from Topkapi Palace in Istanbul.
The colors coral, turquoise and yellow formed the main elements and were reinterpreted again and again using white. Stunning summery creations which deserve to be worn in St. Tropez or on a rooftop terrace in New York. Wonderfully refreshing and sexy.
Amazon-like models with their hair down walked along the catwalk, enchanting their audience. The end of the show was greeted with thunderous applause.
The aftershow cocktail party went on late into the night.

In January 2012, for the first time ever the Berlin designer Frida Weyer did not show at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin, because she had received a major contract from Volkswagen to create a fashion show and design the presentation team's outfits for the Auto China 2012 fair in Beijing.
In parallel to this, the initial preparations were already underway for an exclusive collaborative project with the Office of Culture at the Turkish Embassy in Berlin. In order to get inspiration from the Ottoman era for her Spring/Summer 2013 collection, the designer flew to Istanbul several times and went exploring. Due to the close cooperation with the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism, she was introduced to an interesting network, which will continue to be very valuable for the designer even after this particular collaboration ends.
Just like the metropolis of Istanbul itself, the city of contrasts between tradition and modernity, the Spring/Summer 2013 collection will contain traditional patterns and elements juxtaposed with modern designs. Elaborate embroidery and bright colors give the designs a special appeal without making them appear over the top. There is a general theme with variations based on the color white, which continuously creates empty spaces for Frida Weyer's characteristic lightness. Frida Weyer's now legendary cocktail and evening dresses have thus been given a completely new twist.
We would like to thank the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey, Turkish Airlines as well as the five-star hotel chain Rixos for their close cooperation and very warm hospitality.
Honça a restaurant specializing in Anatolian cuisine which just recently opened on the picturesque Ludwigkirchplatz square in the Berlin district of Wilmersdorf, is host to the first Frida Weyer aftershow cocktail party and will be serving Ottoman delicacies to the guests.
